The University of Lunsar represents the culmination of the lifelong teaching careers of Dr. Sheikh and Dr. Marie Kamarah. With over 50 years of combined teaching experience, this husband and wife duo bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their endeavor. Dr. Sheikh Kamarah served as the Chair of the English Department at Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA, while Dr. Marie Umar-Kamara taught in the RN-BSN degree program at South University before retiring.
The mission of the University is to enhance accessibility and standardization of education in Sierra Leone. The founders aspire to create a landscape where education is readily available, fostering advanced intellectual and professional competencies among the populace and contributing to a more prosperous nation.
